There are no accidents around here...

You know I never told you about this, but there's one guy

Somebody I really love, he's never around

Well he was taking things that could be alright, that could be nice

And make them ugly, so damn ugly

And we put out the lights on them...

...It's idiots like you that screw me up

I know there's nothing to you

And I don't know why I treat you so kind

-- from Iggy Pop's "Turn Blue"

Do you think of me only in the wintertime?

As the snow begins to fall,

Do you recall our white bodies,

The concealment --

The sin?

There is only paper now,
And I accept it;
Embracing the dust.

I smashed and smashed the glass
until I could no longer recognize
my scattered reflection,
broken and old,
broken and old.

You have gone without me,
glanced only for a moment --
what is it that you hold?

There is only paper now,
And I accept it.

You balanced me smack on the edge of your shelf
And all the tulips wilt in your mind's windowbox...
